Health Care for the Homeless: How Do We Protect the Vital Care We Provide Amidst Federal Threats?

Homelessness remains an urgent and complex public health crisis in the United States. Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) programs play a vital role in addressing the intersection of homelessness and health by delivering comprehensive, accessible, and trauma-informed care to some of the countryโ€™s most at-risk populations. This webinar will explore the evolution and impact of HCH programs, highlighting their role as both a safety net and a catalyst for broader systemic change. Participants will hear from frontline providers who witness firsthand the health outcomes improved through these services, and learn how HCH initiatives not only offer medical care but also serve as a gateway to housing, stability, and recovery.

Through this session, attendees will gain insight into the ongoing policy and advocacy efforts that sustain HCH programs, the funding mechanisms that support them, and the urgent need to protect and expand these lifelines. As systemic barriers such as stigma, fragmented care, and housing shortages persist, this conversation will highlight the innovative, community-based models being implemented to overcome them. Whether you’re a healthcare professional, policymaker, advocate, or concerned citizen, this webinar will offer a deeper understanding of how holistic healthcare is a cornerstone in the movement to end homelessness.
