Currently, it is estimated that there are 1.6 million homeless youth each year in the United States. New York City shelter data indicate that on any given night the population living in shelters is comprised of 40-45% children and youth. Focusing on this population with primary care, mental health, behavioral health and oral health care, Care for the Homeless strives to make a positive impact on the lives of young people through service and education.
