Health Education Services: Group Level Interventions

SECTION ONE: CHILDREN'S HEALTH

Children’s Dental Health Game
This interactive workshop, based on the popular television game show JEOPARDY!™, is geared for parents and introduces important topics related to a child’s oral health.

Children’s Health Game
This JEOPARDY!™-based workshop touches on several common children’s illnesses, and is intended to give parents a general overview of children’s health.

Who Wants to be a Vitamin Expert?
This interactive workshop for parents, based on the popular television game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?™, emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet and the benefits of children’s vitamin supplements.

SECTION TWO: ORAL HEALTH

Are you at Risk for Gum Disease?
Participants are asked to determine their risk of gum disease based on an interactive quiz.

Dental Health Game
This JEOPARDY!™-based workshop introduces healthy oral self-care practices to participants, emphasizing dental problems, dental self-care and regular dental visits.

Dental Remembering Game
This fun and interactive workshop is based on the board game Memory™ and educates participants about healthy oral self-care practices.

SECTION THREE: SEXUAL HEALTH

Condomgame
A fun and interactive game, based on the children’s board game Candy Land™, where participants learn about safer sex and a variety of barrier methods.

The Dr. Truth Show
This workshop gives participants a chance to ask a “sex expert” confidential questions related to sex.

Who Wants to be a Female Condom Expert?
This fun and interactive workshop, based on the popular television game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?™, introduces the FC female condom to participants, focusing on female condom benefits and use.

HIV Risk Reduction Skills Building
Participants are given the opportunity to role play with a partner using developed vignettes that focus on HIV risk reduction and safer sex.

HIV Testing
This interactive workshop gives participants a chance to learn about HIV testing practices and procedures, and the benefits of testing.

Sexual Health Game
This fun and interactive workshop is based on the popular television game show JEOPARDY!™. Participants will learn about HIV/AIDS, STIs, safer sex, and other important sexual health facts.

Traffic Light of LOVE
A fun and interactive activity that asks participants to place a variety of sex acts on a risk continuum traffic light, where the red light represents high risk behaviors and the green light represents low to no risk behaviors.

Women: Sexual Arousal and Sexual Response
This exciting workshop introduces the four stages of sexual arousal and sexual response in an interactive and artistic way.

Sexual Drawing Game
A fun and interactive game, based on the game show Pictionary™, where participants creatively draw or use Play-Doh™ to teach each other about safer sex and sexuality.

Who Wants to be an HIV Testing Expert?
This fun and interactive workshop, based on the popular television game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?™, introduces HIV testing options and procedures to participants.

SECTION FOUR: TOBACCO CESSATION

Tobacco Remembering Game
This interactive workshop, based on the children’s board game Memory™, educates participants about some health risks associated with smoking and different smoking cessation techniques.

Smoking Vignettes
Participants are given the opportunity to role play with a partner using developed vignettes that focus on smoking cessation and some health risks associated with smoking.

Tobacco Game
This interactive workshop, based on the television game show JEOPARDY!™, gives participants skills and tips to quit smoking.

SECTION FIVE: GENERAL HEALTH EDUCATION

Who Wants to be an Asthma Expert?
This interactive workshop is based on the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?™. It introduces the causes, symptoms and treatment of asthma.

Cholesterol
This workshop provides a visual example of how cholesterol affects a person’s arteries as it educates participants about the risks of having high cholesterol and gives them skills to lower cholesterol levels.

Diabetes Game
This interactive workshop is based on the television show JEOPARDY!™. Participants learn about general diabetes information, the symptoms and risk factors of diabetes, and ways to treat and control diabetes.

Heart Health Game
This workshop teaches participants about how cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and smoking tobacco increase one’s risk of having heart disease. It is interactive and based on the television show JEOPARDY!™.

Hepatitis Bulls-Eye Game
This fun and interactive workshop gives participants an opportunity to show off their skills at hitting a target. Participants will also learn all about the three most common forms of viral hepatitis: A, B and C.

Who Wants to be a Hypertension Expert?
This workshop, based on the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?™, introduces high blood pressure, also known as “the silent killer”, to participants and gives them skills to control and reduce their hypertension.

Tuberculosis (TB) Game
This interactive workshop, based on the television show JEOPARDY!™, instructs participants on TB transmission, testing and treatment, and focuses particularly on the difference between TB infection and TB disease.
