Podiatry Services

Care for the Homeless provides podiatry services to homeless men and women in sites where homeless people congregate.  Podiatrists working in clinics in Bronx and Manhattan provide this essential service to homeless patients with multiple medical and non-medical conditions affecting their feet, including infections, diabetes, peripheral vascular diseases, frost bite, burns, and problems related to  prolonged walking. The podiatrists conduct testing to determine the extent of circulation and sensation in the feet, and provide minor surgical procedures to remove lesions, and treat bunions, callouses and infections of the feet and nails. They prescribe and educate patients how to properly use orthotic devices.
