HOUSING SPECIALIST
The Housing Specialist will identify and implement permanent housing placements for Susan’s Place clients. Responsibilities include assessing client history and capacity; maintaining updated database of available housing resources; liaising with government and private agencies that oversee housing acquisition; and coordinating housing contracts, referrals and follow-up.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years experience working with mentally ill and/or homeless populations. Exceptional knowledge of supportive housing, Section 8 and other rental assistance programs. Excellent writing, computer and communication skills. Experience with the HRA2010E and SCIMS programs.

MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing routine administrative and clerical functions such as; scheduling meetings and appointments, drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining departmental paper and electronic files, typing, filing, sorting mail and other functions as assigned. Responsible for maintaining credentialing and re-credentialing files for all medical staff; With the assistance of the Medical Director, responsible for maintaining and updating staff schedules; Coordinate information flow among medical staff to compile information needed for reports; Gather and compile information as it relates to medical visits, billings or other departmental operations; Schedules and coordinates medical committee meetings and administrative meetings, and takes and transcribes meeting minutes; Assist in gathering/copying data for internal reporting or audit responses; Types medical reports, corrective action plans, correspondence and other internal reports, as assigned by Medical Administrator and Medical Director; Work with Medical Administrator and Medical Director in screening calls, filing and greeting visitors to CFH Health Services; Maintains office equipment, supply inventories and filing systems in conjunction with the Medical Administrator; Assists in maintaining cordial relationships with auditors and local and statewide regulatory personnel; Assist in maintaining filing systems for the CFH Health Services; Assist in scheduling of clients for medical visits; Sort and route mail to medical personnel; Receive and respond to telephone inquires Collect and prepare outgoing agency mail for posting and drop-off; Perform other tasks as assigned by the Medical Administrator and Medical Director.

MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to type 45 wpm with accuracy. Excellent Communication Skills. Ability to work independently with attention to fine detail; Ability and willingness to travel between the various CFH clinical and administrative sites to perform assigned duties. Bachelor’s degree required with training in office management and two (2) years experience in a health related industry / facility (preferred); (or) College experience plus satisfactory equivalent training and experience in office management and in a health care related field to fulfill the requirements of the position.

HELP DESK ASSOCIATE
The Help Desk Associate will respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically. The HDA will diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues. Research questions using available resources. Advise user on appropriate action. Follow standard help desk procedures. Log all help desk interactions. Administer help desk software. Redirect problems to appropriate resource (i.e. IT Manager or MIS Coordinator). Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention. Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions. The candidate will be responsible for computer set-up, update workstations and create new users accounts. Should be able to lift up to 40 LB. Must be able to communicate clearly and should have a friendly attitude. Other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma and/or GED. Minimum of (1) one year helpdesk technician experience.

Spring, Summer and Fall 2010 Policy and Advocacy interns
Interns will work directly with the Director of Policy. They will be introduced to the wide range of issues currently affecting the provision of health-related services, including but not limited to Medicaid reform, mental health and substance abuse, health education, HIV/AIDS, the health care delivery infrastructure, and shelter and housing reforms. Internships, however, will focus on one issue, determined by the interests and qualifications of the intern/s. It is expected the intern/s will develop expertise in one area.

The Director of Policy also coordinates the activities of the NYC Providers of Health Care for the Homeless, a coalition of the homeless health centers which advocates for the health care rights of homeless people in New York. Interns will be asked to complete a series of tasks to develop the skills necessary for successful policy and advocacy work and will either assist or themselves produce various policy related materials during the internship.

Interns will be exposed to working with coalitions, collaborative partnerships and alliances, and with policy decision-makers.

Interns should expect to assist with administrative functions and should have excellent research and communication skills, be well organized and self-directed.
